Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, has taken over the world — and now, even a 95-year-old grandpa in Nebraska is part of the craze.
Meet Frank Uryasz, a resident of the Remington Heights Retirement Community in Omaha. What started as a casual chat with a staff member turned into something magical. After hearing that a worker was sad Taylor never replied to her fan letters, Frank decided to take matters into his own hands.
“I know some people,” he joked in an interview with Omaha’s KETV.
Soon after, Frank launched his very own Taylor Swift fan club, and it took off like wildfire. What began with 10 members quickly grew to 20 — and then into the hundreds! The response was so overwhelming that Frank had to create a rule: only Remington residents can join unless they’re sponsored by someone inside.
Word spread fast across the Swiftie community nationwide. Fans from all over began sending gifts and letters to Frank’s group. One fan, Molly from North Carolina, mailed cookies and handmade friendship bracelets — the signature Swiftie accessory — along with a sweet note that read, “Welcome to the Swiftie family!”
Another fan group, Swifties for Taylor – 50 Years Old+, even invited Frank and his friends to join their online community.
During his KETV interview, Frank proudly showed off his “I Love Taylor” button, bright orange Swiftie bracelets, and a Taylor Swift license plate attached to his walker. He’s become a local celebrity — and a true ambassador for Swifties of all ages.
But Frank isn’t stopping there. His next goal? A visit from Taylor Swift herself.
He and his club are preparing a big envelope to send to Taylor’s team in Kansas City, where her fiancé Travis Kelce plays for the Chiefs. Inside is a heartfelt letter to Taylor and Kelce — complete with some marriage advice from Frank, who’s also including a note for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and photos of his retirement home fan club.
Frank, a lifelong Chiefs fan, is thrilled by how much joy the club has brought to everyone around him. And even if Taylor never makes it to Omaha, he says the fun of dreaming together is worth it.
“We’re having a wonderful time with this,” Frank said, smiling.
Because if there’s one thing Frank’s proving, it’s that you’re never too old to be a Swiftie. 💖
