Taylor Swift Battles ROSALÍA for No.1 Spot as Hayley Williams and Paul McCartney Join the Race!

Taylor Swift is once again fighting for the top spot on the UK Albums Chart  but she’s got serious competition this week from Spanish superstar ROSALÍA.

Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, her record-breaking 12th studio album, is eyeing a comeback to Number 1 after being knocked off the throne for the past two weeks. But ROSALÍA’s bold and experimental new album LUX is coming in hot, debuting midweek at Number 2 — and just a step away from claiming the crown.

If LUX holds its momentum, it could become ROSALÍA’s first-ever UK chart-topper. Her last album, MOTOMAMI, peaked at Number 42 back in 2022, marking her debut on the UK Albums Chart.

Hayley Williams Set for Another Solo Win
Paramore’s powerhouse frontwoman Hayley Williams could land her second solo Top 5 hit with Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party (currently at Number 4). The four-time Grammy-nominated album, originally released in August, is now on track to match the peak of her debut solo record Petals For Armor.

Adding to the excitement, Hayley just announced a massive world tour starting March 2026 — with UK and Ireland dates confirmed for June.

Paul McCartney & Wings Aim for Another Classic Chart Moment
Sir Paul McCartney and his legendary band Wings are also flying high. Their new ultimate anthology WINGS is currently heading for a Top 5 finish (Number 5 midweek). Personally overseen by McCartney and released in multiple deluxe formats, this could be their best UK performance since the 1978 hit compilation Wings Greatest.
Lady Gaga Soars After GRAMMY Buzz
Lady Gaga’s former chart-topper MAYHEM has seen a massive boost — jumping 58 places midweek to Number 7  thanks to its GRAMMY nomination for Album of the Year.
Rising Stars and Comebacks
Breakout artist sombr’s debut album I Barely Know Her is also climbing fast, rising 21 places to Number 8 following its physical release. Meanwhile, Jake Bugg’s A Modern Day Distraction (2024) could finally break into the Top 10 after the release of its deluxe edition (currently at Number 10).

English rock band White Lies are chasing their seventh Top 20 album with Night Light (Number 11), while electronic legend Gary Numan’s 1,000: Live at the Electric Ballroom is heading for a Top 40 debut at Number 22 — his 18th to date.

Nostalgia Still Rules the Charts
Nearly 19 years after its release, George Michael’s greatest hits album Twenty Five is back on the radar, re-entering the charts at Number 36. The compilation features timeless classics like Careless Whisper and the Christmas favorite Last Christmas.

And after celebrating 50 years of Bohemian Rhapsody last week, Queen’s iconic Greatest Hits album continues its remarkable run, sitting midweek at Number 40.

The final Official Albums Chart Update Top 100 will be revealed this Friday at 5:45 PM — and it’s shaping up to be one of the tightest battles of the year.

Who will take the crown — Taylor or ROSALÍA? Stay tuned.
