Meet Ben Duckett  the explosive left-handed opener who’s become a cornerstone of England’s cricket revolution. Born in 1994, this Nottinghamshire star isn’t just a batter; he’s a wicket-keeper, a record-breaker, and the embodiment of Bazball aggression.

Rise Through the Ranks:
Duckett’s talent shone early. While still at Stowe School, he debuted for Northamptonshire in 2012. By 2015, he’d cracked 1,000 first-class runs – a sign of things to come. His 2016 season was pure fire: a monumental 282 not out against Sussex, three more centuries, and a starring role in Northants’ T20 Blast triumph. That year, he swept the awards – PCA Player of the Year and Young Cricketer of the Year, a historic double!

After moving to Nottinghamshire in 2018, he kept dazzling. A blistering double-century off just 168 balls against Cambridge MCCU in 2019 showcased his flair. He then steered Notts to T20 Blast glory in 2020 with a cool, unbeaten 53 in the final. His 2022 County Championship form (over 1,000 runs at 72.28) cemented his status, earning fresh contracts in 2022 and 2025.

International Rollercoaster & Stunning Comeback:
Duckett’s England debut came in 2016 in Bangladesh, featuring a promising half-century in Tests. But tours of India and a 2017-18 Ashes incident (where he was disciplined after a bar altercation) stalled his progress. He fought back, earning a T20I debut in 2019 against Pakistan.

The real resurgence came under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. Recalled for the 2022 Pakistan tour, Duckett became Bazball’s poster boy. He and Zak Crawley smashed records – the fastest England century opening stand and the fastest double-century partnership in Test history!

2023 cemented his place: a career-best 182 against Ireland, vital runs in the thrilling, drawn Ashes (321 runs), and a stunning maiden ODI century (107* off 78 balls) vs Ireland.

2024 & Beyond: A Key Man:
Duckett remains vital. He blasted a rapid 71 against the West Indies at Trent Bridge in 2024, showcasing his signature aggression. Earlier that year, he was named in England’s T20 World Cup squad.

And in 2025? He etched his name deeper into history with a sensational 165 against Australia in the ICC Champions Trophy – briefly the tournament’s highest individual score and England’s fifth-highest ODI score.

More Than Just Runs:
Duckett’s also lit up franchise cricket, notably captaining Welsh Fire in The Hundred before moving to Birmingham Phoenix.

The Duckett Essence:
Ben Duckett’s story is resilience. From early PCA awards to setbacks and a phenomenal Bazball-fueled comeback, he’s England’s fearless, left-handed dynamo – redefining how openers play with breathtaking intent and match-winning flair.
