Pop star Katy Perry seems to be moving on after her recent split from Orlando Bloom  and in a way no one saw coming. The singer was spotted enjoying a cozy dinner date with none other than former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Montreal on July 28, 2025.

According to People, Katy, 40, and Justin, 53, were seen dining at Le Violon, a charming restaurant in Montreal’s Le Plateau neighborhood. The duo even took a moment to meet celebrity chef Danny Smiles and personally thanked the kitchen staff after their meal.

TMZ obtained photos of the pair during their night out and revealed that the dinner included cocktails and a spread of dishes with lobster being one of the highlights.

While neither Katy nor Trudeau has commented on the nature of their relationship, their unexpected meet-up has left fans buzzing with speculation.

This surprise outing comes just weeks after Katy Perry and actor Orlando Bloom confirmed their separation. The former couple’s reps told Page Six, “Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting.”

They added, “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”

Katy and Orlando’s love story began in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, on August 26, 2020.

As for Justin Trudeau, he and his ex-wife Sophie Gregoire announced their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. In an Instagram post at the time, Trudeau said, “Sophie and I would like to share that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. We remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build.”

The former couple share three children together  Xavier (17), Ella-Grace (16), and Hadrien (11).
